In September 2010, Schneider Electric will be obsoleting select legacy inductive proximity sensors and will be replacing them with a newer line of products. The most common proximity sensors that will be affected are part numbers beginning with XS1, XS2 and XS3.


This conversion tool will help create a smooth transition during the process of eliminating the specified Telemecanique sensors. The cross reference tool will list soon-to-be obsolete Telemecanique sensors along with new and improved products and specific comments regarding particular differences in part numbers.


Improved board designs, manufacturing innovations and marketing opportunities are driving this obsolescence program. The replacement Telemecanique sensors will be RoHs compliant. Advancements in the new products will include excellent noise immunity, longer ranges, better protection, wide temperature ranges and other various items. XS7/8 C40 and XSD

On October 1, 2010 a change to part numbering reference for certain limit switch style inductive sensors was introduce to our ordering system.

This change will align our local US catalog numbering system with the Schneider Electric Global catalog numbering system to provide better customer service.

The following changes are already in effect to the XS7/8 C40 and XSD inductive proximity sensors:

1. XS7/8 C40 limit switch style and XSD block type inductive proximity sensors with a part number WITH the suffix "H7" will be ordered and shipped WITH a ½" NPT conduit entry.

2. XS7/8 C40 limit switch style and XSD block type inductive proximity sensors with a part number WITHOUT the suffix "H7" will be ordered and shipped WITH a PG13 cable gland.

Please take these changes into consideration for all future orders to avoid customer confusion and prevent an interruption in service.

XCK/XC2 Limit & XY2 Cable Pull Switch Catalog Number Suffix CHANGE

In order to align our US catalog number system with the Schneider Electric Global catalog number system and provide better customer service, we are making the following changes to the following product families:

1) XCK/ZCK Limit Switch Bodies &  XY2 Cable Pull Switches

These parts have been ordered different ways in the past. For future orders, to receive products with ½” NPT openings, devices will need to be ordered with an H7 suffix.
ZCK** limit switch levers are not affected.

Part numbers ordered WITHOUT the H7 suffix will be shipped with metric conduit openings.

2) XC2/ZC2 Limit Switch Bodies & Heads

These parts have been ordered different ways in the past. For future orders, to receive products with ½” NPT openings , devices will need to be ordered with an H2 suffix.
ZC2JY** levers are not affected by this change.

Part numbers ordered WITHOUT the H2 suffix will be shipped with metric conduit openings.

Osisense inductive sensors rectangular XS7C4/XS8C4 easy substitution

The new OsiSense inductive sensors rectangular XS7C/XS8C offer is fully launch from now. They can replace the legacy range XS7C40/XS8C40 rectangular shape with similar characteristics.

Telemecanique Sensors is proposing a first cross-reference list to help conversion from existing XS7C40/XS8C40 rectangular sensor to the new offer XS7C4/XS8C4 in the same form factor.

This conversion tool will help create a smooth transition during the process of withdrawal. The cross reference tool will list soon-to-be obsolete Telemecanique sensors along with new and improved products
